Character Animation
This exercise was super fun. I started out by making the lowman figure move up and down, just to test the motions, and see what I could make him do.
Then, I worked on created a walk cycle. It was a bit tricky to figure out, but I eventually got it working with a bit of effort.
I thought the walk cycle looked a little stiff though, and wanted to add a bit more character. I added a little bit of length, making the figure take two steps before looping instead of one. I tried to make the motions as natural as possible, and think I did a pretty good job. Overall I thought moving this guy around was pretty fun, and I'm definitely going to play around with this in the future!
Anastasia - Great job of animating LowMan! Your walk cycle is impressive, and you top it with the details you added to give the character more life. I'd really encourage you to keep working with LowMan, and then expand to other pre-rigged characters like Andy or others that seem interesting to you. (Make sure that they have documentation on how you can manipulate the rig in order to animate the character.) You clearly have a significant interest in character animation, and a great eye for capturing the details of human movement. If you keep working with this animation, one of the next things I would consider is to start working with the flexion of the torso and shoulders - that will give even more verisimilitude to your character's movements.
