Final

Final Animation For my final, I expanded upon the scene I created for my midterm. I tweaked some of the bedroom, and added more complex camera animation. I wanted to simulate how it would feel to walk around the original game, but in a 3D space. I had wanted to include a bit of character animation towards the end, maybe with something coming out of the door, but ultimately ran out of time. If I had had more time for this project, I definitely would have wanted to add some character animation and also improved upon the shaders and lighting as well. Self Evaluation: Over the semester, I feel as if I learned a decent amount of things. I had done a little bit of modeling in Blender before, but had never worked with Maya, and have never really done any kind of 3D animation before. I think my 3D animation skills have for sure increased a lot now compared to the beginning of the semester. As someone who has been really into watching animation for a while, my favorite aspect has definitely bee...

Week 12 Exercise + Final Storyboarding

Rigging This week, we practiced rigging a model. First I created a simple character. I wanted it to be pretty simple, so I stuck to using only cubes to make it. Next I worked on creating the rig. I created a few joints at the natural spots, and tried to keep them as symmetrical as I could. I think the rig is set up pretty well, but I had a little bit of trouble getting the movement to look correct. Onto Storyboarding, my scene is fairly simple. I'm using the bedroom scene I built for the midterm (from the game Yume Nikki), and animating it. Below I drew the expected movement onto some screenshots from the game that I would use as a reference. I plan on having the camera move about the scene, and go through some doors. My goal is to make the animation around 30 seconds, and 720 frames.
